Carpenter Built Walnut Hardwood Flooring from Scraps

Carpenter Toader Sorea Installing Walnut Floor

When we look at beautiful photos of the interiors of houses, rarely do we spot all the effort that went into it. The truth is that beautiful and truly personalised interiors can only be made with skill and effort. Today I am going to show you how a talented person can turn scrap wood into luxury walnut flooring. If I had your curiosity, let me tell you about the pros and cons of walnut hardwood flooring.

Highly prized for their dark color and striking grain patterns, refined, elegant, and unique, walnut floors have a rich history, being valued for their durability and workability in furniture-making. In the Medieval and Renaissance periods, walnut was the wood of choice for castle paneling. In the 18th and 19th centuries, walnut was the honorary material of interior design., complementing intricately carved furniture designs.

Walnut wood is a sturdy wood, its dense nature and natural resistance ensures that walnut furniture will last for generations. A walnut wood flooring never goes out of style its gorgeous finish can fit almost any style and is highly resistant to wear.

For this project, master carpenter Nicolae Șorea from the village of Iaslovat, Suceava County, has gathered wood for six years.

“I’ve gathered the wood from people in my neighborhood, eight cubic meters of walnut. This year I dried it in the dryer. I made the staircase from it, and I made a one-of-a-kind walnut hardwood flooring from the leftovers,” Mr. Șorea explained.

The overly complicated project involved shaping and cutting thousands of pieces of different dimensions and installing them to create a beautiful design while maintaining the symmetry within the pattern.

This can be carried out only by someone with ample experience with performing carpentry-related tasks, and after watching the video, I hope you’ll agree that Mr. Șorea is a real master in this field, one who has the experience necessary to handle any task that relates to carpentry.
